Facilitator and Director of Cura.
On her decolonial journey Farhana discovered Ayahuasca, Chacruna and other plants. She believes these plants and their spirits are her teachers and healers guiding, awakening her medicine path whilst reconnecting with the cycles of nature.
With gratitude and respect to the plants, unity with the people and the land and as new ancestors, she has a desire to share this medicine with more women and therefore dedicates women's retreats to this purpose.
In 2021 she traveled to the jungle to build a deeper connection and understanding of energy medicines and traditional healers, with similar intentions. This is where she met Wexakea. A fellow medicine man, teacher and friend with the love for nature and healing holding ceremonies.
Medicine Man & Icaro Song Holder
Wexakea is a Shipibo medicine man, native to the Alto Ucayali community of San Francisco. He learned to work with the rainforest plant medicines under the tutelage of his mother and has been dieting plants and serving medicine for over a decade while supporting his wife and six daughters.
Ayahuasca was the teacher he needed to find all of the answers hidden inside of his body temple. In this way, his life has changed to living a more intentional, sacred life, which he believes is very important for staying connected and weaving a life of love and unity.
Wexakea is well respected in the ceremonial space singing Icaros (medicine songs), overseeing ceremonies and is a visionary painter selling arts and crafts.
Expectations: Although knowledge is passed down, Peru and many indigenous peoples have been affected by colonisation and tourists preferences. We work with the plants to heal and with those who hold similar integrity. Expect to go into the parts of you, normally you struggle to face and heal.
Ceremony: Ayahuasca responds differently to everyone. If this is your first time, your first ceremony will be gentle to see how you process the medicine. The jungle is a mystical place to experience the medicine and this retreat is nothing short of a gentle yet invigorating healing journey. Come with an open heart and trust you were called to this journey. Novalis is dedicated to upholding culture and medicinal healing which is the reason for our collaboration.
Healing: Expect a rewiring of the nervous system where you will slow down, be the most authentic version of yourself and embody the power and spirit of nature. We do not offer "trippy" or other western approaches to life.
Wexakea: It is in his purpose to help heal the spirit of every individual through plant ceremonies. Wexakea is both a teacher and bridge to the unseen realms. With consent and consultation you are welcome to share what you would like support with and truly experience his gift in ceremony.
Communication: There will be a what's app group created prior to the retreat, where ongoing support and community grows. We will also send you a document with required information and guidelines, review your medical history and discuss options should this not be the right time for you.
CURA: We are Taino owed and dedicated to healing using earth based wisdom. The schedule and flow uses elements of nature - directed by curanderisimo also known as shamanic teachings.
Funding: The Plant Medicine experience includes harvesting, producing, ceremony, work, retreat, accommodation, food etc. A suggested $888 - $1000 meets the support of Novalis, Loyver's Dreams, Farhana's research and Cura's Diversity Fund where we offers exchange.
PLEASE NOTE: *Farhana will translate but the ceremonial space is directed by Wexakea. If money is a concern please do not hesitate to ask or name your offer.
Doubts, Fears, Concerns, Excitement, Chats, Sharings are all invited.
We would be honored to guide you through the booking process. From hostels to flight options, to food, to just about anything. We will send guidelines with everything you need to know about travelling to Peru. If you fee the calling, that's all that matters. The rest will work itself out and or Just ask away - you are not alone.
La Fuerza Femenina translates to Women's Strength. The Strength that is needed to rebalance ourselves and the world.
The women's retreat accompanied by Farhana has been one of the most fulfilling experiences I have experienced. It is a week full of moments of learning about oneself and connecting with nature. Farhana was always accompanying us, guiding us and helping us to heal from the hand of medicine and contact with our feminine strength.
